Australian Government Grant application Clinical Education Closing Soon!!

Recently Laerdal sent an open email to health professionals highlighting the availability of Australian Government Clinical Education Grants with an open offer to provide support to individual applications. Laerdal Medical AS is a major international simulation company with a strong commitment to support and educate health professionals.

The ANTS committee believes this is a very good opportunity for those educators considering applying for the Grants. Further information about the offer by Laerdal is provided below which is an extract from the Laerdal email:

Please find below a weblink which outlines available government funding focusing on the
following:

Innovative Clinical Teaching and Training Grants.

These grants will provide between $100,000 and $5 million (GST excl.) per project for initiatives:

  • that will support innovative approaches to dealing with the increase in the numbers of people undertaking health professional training and education,
  • that will improve distribution and capacity for teaching and clinical training outside of tertiary hospitals, and
  • in settings that may not normally be considered for Commonwealth funding.

The timing of this grant application is very tight with the closing date Wednesday 27th January 2010.

In support of your application, Laerdal have a number of resources available to support your grant application. Including:

The Simulation Planning guide.

Comprehensive planning tool used to develop a framework for the establishment of simulation education facilities and the development of resources and support.

Educational and Technical Service teams.

These groups can offer comprehensive educational and technical programs to support your curriculum and implementation process, and offer information on sustainability for the project.

Grant application support.
