Dear Colleague,

As a nursing educator, we would value your contributions and experience to review the Australian Nurse Teacher Professional Standards (the ‘Standards’) by being part of a focus group. It has been over 10 years since the Standards were reviewed and we aim to produce a revised set of professional practice standards available to nursing educators of all levels in Australia.

The project has ethics approval (Western Sydney University HREC H15400) for us to undertake this project where nursing educators are invited to comment through Zoom focus groups.

Details are provided in the Participant Information Sheet attached to this post where the time, risks and what you will be asked to do are given. We have also attached a copy in the post of the current Standards for your information.

The Dates for the Zoom sessions are below:

  1. Thursday 21 September, 1pm
  2. Friday 22 September, 11am

After reading the Participant Information Sheet and you wish to participate then we ask you to click on the link below, which contains the consent form to complete and submit for your consent to participate in the project. We also ask for your email address so we can send you the Zoom link for the focus group and a short survey for some background information. Attending the focus group also implies consent to participate in the project. You are only required to attend one focus group.

We appreciate your time and hope you will be able to assist us and be part of the focus group. If you have any questions then please DO NOT REPLY TO THIS POST but contact the Principal Investigator, Dr Christine Taylor (office@ants.org.au), who will be happy to answer any questions.

I look forward to your participation.

Regards,

Dr Christine Taylor, Principal Investigator (office@ants.org.au)
