Subject: For Action: NMBA Joint Statement on Cultural Safety
Importance: High

 Dear CoNNMO members,

As you may be aware, there has been recent media attention in relation to the cultural safety content of the new Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Codes of Conduct. The NMBA prepared a joint statement in response to issues raised (attached). This statement is co-badged with CATSINaM, the ANMF, ACN and ACM. Other national nursing and midwifery organisations have expressed an interest in signing on to the joint statement. Following discussion with Tanya Vogt, NMBA Executive Officer, I would like to invite any CoNNMO member organisations that also wish to co-badge on the joint statement to please contact Tanya by email at tanya.vogt@ahpra.gov.au or by phone on (08) 7071 5552.

Kind regards

Julianne
