Dear Colleague

I am writing to formally invite your participation and seek your assistance in disseminating invitations to the series of national consultations being held by Health Workforce Australia (HWA) to inform the Rural and Remote Health Workforce Innovation and Reform (RRHWIR) Strategy.

I greatly value your input into the development of the Strategy as a representative on the Expert Reference Group.

As you are aware, the RRHWIR Strategy aims to provide national guidance on future needs, reforms and initiatives to improve the health care services of those in regional, rural and remote communities. The Strategy is linked to Health Workforce Australia’s National Health Workforce Innovation and Reform Strategic Framework for Action and the National Training Plan.

I would be grateful for your assistance in forwarding this invitation to relevant staff in your organisation and networks with specific responsibility for rural and remote health education and training, workforce development, workforce planning, innovation and reform.

The attached invitation contains a schedule of the consultation workshops. Details of how to register for consultation workshops or make a written submission are provided in the invitation and online at http://www.hwa.gov.au/wir/ruralandremote

The draft background paper will be available on the HWA website on 29 August 2011 and circulated to consultation registrants.

Thank you for your assistance and we look forward to your involvement in the national consultation process.

Should you have any further questions please contact Judy Myers on 08 8409 4528 or judy.myers@hwa.gov.au

Yours sincerely

Ben Wallace
