Welcome

Welcome to the 2014 National Nurse Education Conference.

On behalf of the Australian Nurse Teachers’ Society (ANTS) and its Conference Organising Committee I welcome you to the National Nurse Education Conference 2014 in Adelaide.

The conference theme of “Changing Boards” reflects the significant impact technology is having on the content and delivery of education for professionals.  Within a generation of clinical practice we have moved from using blackboards through whiteboards and now virtual boards in presenting skills and knowledge to healthcare professionals across all stages and levels within their careers. This Conference seeks to highlight the current and future trends in healthcare education and the role technology is playing to enhance and innovate.

The conference theme is broadly defined to examine developments in professional education in both its academic and professional aspects across the spectrum of nursing as a profession.  Anyone who has a professional or vocational interest in education for clinical professionals is encouraged to attend and explore innovative educational and training strategies for practice.

The conference showcases invited speakers and presenters from across a broad-range of health related professions to discuss issues related to best practice in health in the belief that a multidisciplinary approach to patient care is now integral to how we as professionals work and study in a modern health system. We look forward to seeing you at the 15th National Nurse Education Conference to explore further the issues, challenges and promises in nursing education in all of its complexity.
